The last I went to Langkawi was in 1998. Yup! 1998...it was 12 years back! Wow! Such a long time.
That time I went with my hubby, also with my first baby in tummy already have three kids, and it is time to go to Langkawi again. So we have planned to have a holiday in Langkawi this January.
A bit info about Langkawi, is a cluster of 99 islands separated from mainland Malaysia by the Straits of Malacca, is a district of the state of Kedah in Northern Malaysia and lies approximately 51 km west of Kedah. On June 1, 2007, Langkawi Island has been given a World Geopark status by UNESCO.Three of its main conservation areas in Langkawi Geopark are Machincang Cambrian Geoforest Park, Kilim Karst Geoforest Park and Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest park.(Island of the Pregnant Maiden Lake). These three parks are the most popular tourism area within Langkawi Geopark.
Some of the most popular beaches are Pantai Cenang, Pantai Tengah, Burau Bay, Pantai Kok, and Datai Bay. Just look at the white sandy beach....
Back in 1998, we stayed at Awana Porto Malai. This time we have booked two Deluxe Queen rooms for six of us at One Hotel Helang, online ( online rate is much cheaper than booking through the hotel directly. )
One Deluxe Queen room has two queen beds, the rate is MYR 164.00 per night through Asia WebDirect.
Our journey will start ( Insya Allah ) on 19th night, we will transit overnight in Ipoh at my sister-in-law's house. Then the next morning, we will move to Kuala Kedah to take a ferry to Langkawi. We planned to stay for three nights. From Ipoh to Kuala Kedah could take three hours ( I guess ).
Can't wait to go to Langkawi.....again.
Till then,
Zhelda.
